Who are we ?
We are Isabelle and Fabrice Mouric and acquired this village house in 2016.

We are living in Le Havre and we have been spending our holidays in Le Mônetier for more than 40 years.
We stay there as often as possible depending on our professional activities in order to take advantage of the calm of this village and the fresh air of the mountains of the Hautes-Alpes.
Avid nature lovers, we like to ski in winter (downhill skiing, skating and ski touring) and go hiking in summer in these magnificent landscapes.

The site also allows us to go on bike rides and tackle mythical passes such as the Galibier and the Isoard. We enjoy our stays at Le Mônetier throughout the year and would be glad to to welcome you here.

The house
Our family being scattered around the world and the prospect of a little more free time incited us to sell our apartment in Le Mônetier to look for a large house where all the family members could gather together.

This village house had been uninhabited for about 25 years and was difficult to live in, but we detected interesting renovation possibilities as well as a closed garden offering a magnificent view of Le Grand Aréa. The house was built in 1777 and was composed of a stable on the ground floor with rooms above and a hay barn in the upper part.

The advice of our architect, Eddy Faurobert, as well as well as the skills of local companies have made it possible to renovate this house and separate it into two comfortable and functional apartments. The old materials and the old wooden frame have been preserved and provide an authentic and warm atmosphere.

The loggia was created in the image of miling windows that used to be in barns. As for the vaulted room with its central pillar, it offers freshness in summer and retains the authenticity of the old barn.

The work was completed in 2018 and we are now taking full advantage of this quiet space surrounded by greenery, enhanced by the gentle sound of the canal in the very center of this magnificent village.
